The Moy children and adults swapped ponies every 30minutes throughout the day, while the others enjoyed the bouncing castles, slide, barbeque, spot prizes and competitions.

Congradulations to all the Moy representitives at Trim horse show on 6th September. Helen, Michael and Grace are beaming with pride for our students who cleaned up at the show, especially those who were taking part for their first ever time!
The day kicked off early with the 60cm showjumping class and Jack Kavanagh riding the Moy's 'Moy Cara', it was both Jack and Cara's first ever competition and they shocked us all by sailing around the course of 13 fences and walking away with a red rosette! Mary O'Brian and her own pony 'Nellie' followed closely behind and despite a few teething problems at the first fence they flew around the rest of the course like a couple of pro's! Bethany Youngson went in next on her new pony 'Creme', again it was both of their first ever time at a competition outside of the Moy but they didn't show it, the duo manoeuvered the course with care and caution and worked together every step of the way. Thea Murphy on her own pony 'Dolly' was the last to represent the Moy in this section and after a very exciting round had an unfortunate knock at the last fence!!
Next we moved on to the lead rein class where Lucy McCarthy and the Moy's Dandy (and not to forget Dave) showed off to the judges by strutting around the ring with class and aplomb and left with yet another red rosette for the Moy, next into this class went Hannah Kavanagh on Moy Cara and Erika Youngson on Creme. The two girls walked and trotted around on these 3 year old Connemara's with ease and elegance and left with two huge smiles and two even huger rosettes, Hannah taking away the 4th place, and erika another red rosette!
Andrea Smith had an easy, breezy trip round the 70 cm class before taking the yellow (3rd place) rosette in the light weight showing class, she went on the impress in the working hunter class and strutted out with 4th place.
Due to poor weather and ground conditions Jack, Thea, Erika and Mary decided to pull out of their working hunter class so the Moy packed up their rosettes and headed for home. A special thank you to Michael and Avril for kindly transporting the horses and to Beth Earl, her mum, Avril, all the youngson and Smith gang, Grace and Michael for thier support and cheers......and of course to all lthe mums and dads for all the goodies and BBQ which is always welcomed by the Moy gang!
Congradulations to all the representitives of the Moy at the balivor horse show on 13th and 14th of June. Ellen Foster came in first place in her first ever showing class on her connemara pony, bred and broken her at the Moy 'Moy Dara'. Thea Murphy and Andrea Smith both competed in the 70cm and 80cm classes and Grace Fox competed in the Amateur RDS qualifer on 'Moy Swift' but unfortunately didn't manage to qualify this year. We are always so proud to hear of the sucesses of our students and ponies outside of the Moy so keep us posted on your activities nd upcoming competitions.
Congradulations to the many competitors who competed in the a one day event held at the Moy on May bank holiday Monday. The event was a great sucess and the horses especially loved the cross country obsticles! Pictures have been posted on the site.Congradulations to all the children who took part in the AIRE national examinations here at the Moy on Fri 17th April. We are all so proud of the hard work and great riding displayed by the 36 students who took the exams!
The day started off with the senior riders who excelled themselves and set the tone for the day. The second group rose to the challange and were complemented by the examiner on their performance. However, after lunch the show was stolen by the Pee Wee's and Pow Wow's.
General Comments from the examiner, Kay Nolan;
.."always a pleasure to examine the students at the Moy Riding Centre"..
.."always impecibly turned out"..
.."congradulations to you all on the hard work put in to the stable managment part of your exams"..
.."a huge improvment in the riding ability of the Moy students, keep up the hard work". Congratulations and Well done to all who took part as competitors and also to the huge amount of spectators who came along in support of the St.Patricks day festivities here at The Moy.
First and Foremost we must thank our 'Yummy Mummies'; Avril, Tara, Tina and Concepta for all their preparation and hard work that went into making the day such a success. A special thank you must also go to Breda for baking enough cakes to service the Irish Army!!
The day got off to a great start with an excellent dressage test from Tara which set the standard for the day, however Kilrainy took the Red Rossette home with Grainne Healy doing a lovely dressage test and an effortless double clear round in the jumping. She was followed very closely by the newest member to the Moy Team-intermediate rider Alan McLoughlin who took 2nd place. Karina Kerrigan almost had it though with a magnificantly turned out Beag and an excellent dressage score but unfortunatly had a pole down in the jumping which put her into 3rd place.
A special congratulations must also go to Tina on Kovu, Concepta on Soulmate and Avril on Duchess who had their first spin around the showjumping course!! Well done!
Great fun was had by all the children with thanks to Nicola Williams who had their faces painted before running a muck with mounted games and a party in the house!The Showjumping competition followed, it got very serious in the jumpoff between best pals Andrea Smith, Bethanie Youngson and Thea Murphy but Andrea stole the red rossette!The next Combined Training day will be held on Bank holiday Monday 4th May, dressage tests available in the office, book now to avoid disappointment!
